A sentimental side to gardening

The first batch of runner bean seeds are in!

They grow fast and that is why we don’t sow them before May or they will have grown ready to plant out long before the danger of frost leaves us. Fingers crossed that I am still not too early this year considering the notably cold weather!

I was given these seeds from Tad-cu Pontyberem (my wife’s grandfather) and I’m really looking forward to seeing them grow this year!

I am very sentimental when it comes to keeping, preserving and planting seeds that I have received from dear friends and family. For me, this is so special and important as it can also maintain that strong connection with the memory of loved ones and I feel so privileged watching them grow!

Do you grow plants in the garden that mean something to you?
