Producing natural heat: Creating a hotbed for seedlings

It is a busy time in the garden sowing all the seeds ready for a brand new growing season. To ensure that the seeds germinate and that small seedlings grow under the best possible growing conditions, we often require a constant temperature of between 10-20°C.

It is possible to grow a number of seeds indoors or use electric/fuel heaters but did you know that there is another way to do this using a completely natural and organic process to generate heat in the garden?

In this video, I share how I use chicken manure to build a hotbed in the polytunnel and produce natural heat that is completely sustainable and environmentally friendly.
