The last day of May in the garden

A very sunny and dry May for the most part – there is no doubt that our weather is changing suddenly in recent years.

Long dry spells are becoming more and more common especially between March and June, scorching heat more often but also when the rain comes, it is very intense and exceptionally wet for periods – the middle ground has become far more extreme than before! All this creates new growing conditions for us in the garden and means that we will need to accept that planning for the growing season becomes more challenging and fickle.

One thing that will never change of course is our willingness to discuss and moan about the weather when gardening and to talk about it regularly 🤣 Basically, it’s too dry, can we please now have some rain 🙏😂
