Establishing a new no dig garden at Ysgol Gymraeg Dyffryn y Glowyr
Today I had so much fun starting a new no dig garden in Cwm-twrch. Thank you to year 5 for their great efforts in moving tons of compost and creating a brand new growing space in less than a day! The whole process consisted of collecting cardboard, spreading and compacting compost and then planting all kinds of crops
We hope to create a small market garden at the school to produce food for families and the local community as well as teach growing skills to the next generation
To emulate this project in every educational institution in Wales would offer a special and exciting opportunity for Wales. We could develop a new generation of people who understand the importance of growing and eating local food in a way that cares for nature and the environment
Thank you to the North and Mid Wales Reaching Wider partnership for funding and supporting this project
