Competing for the first time in a veg show!
Well, I was absolutely chuffed to win with my Nadine potatoes at the Royal Welsh Show last week 
I honestly didn’t expect success as a first-time competitor, but the buzz of seeing that red card was incredible!
If you’ve never entered a flower or veg show before, my message would be – give it a go! It’s so much fun and a real celebration of our finest homegrown produce 
The challenge here was to find five spuds that were roughly the same size and shape to enter as a set. After harvesting several buckets… these five came to the surface – quite literally 
I also managed to win the beginners soft fruit class and came second in the sweet pea novice class
