Royal Welsh 2025

Who would’ve thought, just two years ago, that we’d be back like this… and grown from last year to become an integral part of the Royal Welsh Show?

It’s impossible not to feel emotional thinking about the incredible success of the Horticulture Village this year 💚 Without people – there is no show. So here’s a heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey:

  • The amazing Show staff
  • Incredible partners like Lantra Wales, Food Sense Wales, Castell Howell, the Simon Gibson Trust, Moondance Foundation and many more
  • And most importantly, our competitors and exhibitors, who returned in their hundreds to support us!

We saw a significant increase in entries in the children and youth sections, and the standard – from vegetables to cut flowers, from floral art to vibrant trade stands – was simply outstanding.

The spirit of community among stallholders and the army of volunteers and stewards who worked tirelessly from dawn till dusk made it all possible. And there was one deeply personal moment for me… The David Brown Cropmaster tractor, in our family since 1948, originally bought by Uncle Dai, later stripped back by Tadcu – and then lovingly brought back to life by Arwyn Gelli, my cousin and Uncle Adrian. It felt like a little piece of Tadcu and Wncwl Dai was with me all week.

I didn’t manage to take many photos, here are some I’ve borrowed – too busy talking, laughing and enjoying every second! But if you have photos, please share them here – I’d love to see them 🙏

Thank you, all of you. Without people – there is no show. It’s clear the passion and dedication we have for horticulture in Wales is as strong as ever 🌼
