Growing Cut Flowers

There are many advantages of growing your own cut flowers at home, one of the main ones is to reduce our carbon footprints by lowering the demand for imported cut flowers.

Giving a bouquet of home-grown flowers for a special occasion feels that much more thoughtful and personal and collecting and drying flower petals from the garden are a great environmentally-friendly alternative to wedding confetti or can be used as potpourri!

As seen in the video, we were very lucky to be able to use flowers from the garden on our wedding day! We decided to collect flower petals from the garden and dry them to create confetti and we also collected lots of flowers a day before the wedding to create small bouquets to put in milk bottles to decorate the venue – it was perfect!

In this video, I take us through the steps of growing cut flowers at home.
